Allumeria System Requirements
What the store page says, and what the developer later clarified.
Allumeria is a custom C# / OpenTK / OpenGL client, not an Unreal showcase. It should run on ordinary gaming PCs. The Steam widget has still confused people because the first spec block looked like a 1080p enthusiast box. This page separates the listed numbers from the developer’s own comments and from community Deck reports.
Listed Steam-style minimums
Public pages have shown roughly: 64-bit Windows 10, 8th-gen Intel i3 class CPU, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1080-class GPU, about 1 GB disk. Recommended lines bump the CPU toward a 10th-gen i5 and Windows 11. Treat the GPU row with suspicion. On the 0.8 trailer comments, Unobtainable Melon wrote that the game uses less than 2 GB and that Steam specs were his own machine “for now.” If you own a much weaker GPU and the demo launches, believe the demo.
Install size is small relative to modern sandboxes. Keep a few extra gigabytes for worlds, screenshots (F2), and asset packs after 0.14.3.
What that means in practice
If you can run any recent indie voxel or a modest Minecraft Java instance, try the demo first. CPU and RAM matter more than ray tracing (there is none). RGB lighting is a custom engine feature; huge painted cities will cost more than a starter hut. Stamina UI and 1000 FPS caps do not mean your laptop will hit 1000; they mean the engine will not sit on an old 200 cap if the hardware can push more.
Close overlays if you hitch while opening the hold-R menu. Controller users should enable Steam Input. DualShock and DualSense were listed USB-only on some store views; cable first, wireless later. Gyro look is advertised in shorts.
Steam Deck and Linux
Steam Deck compatibility has appeared as Unknown on store listings. Community threads already argue about Xbox pads on Deck. Expect to tinker. Keyboard is still better for building. Linux binaries existed on itch (linux-x64.zip) long before Steam. Proton may run the Steam build; official Linux Steam is not the thing to assume without checking your library flags.
Networking
Co-op is P2P. The host’s NAT and upload are the server. A strong GPU with a 3 Mbps upload will still give guests a bad cave. See multiplayer. Cloud saves are listed; still copy world folders before patches.
Accessibility and input
Steam lists full controller support, save-anytime, no QTEs, Xbox, DualShock, DualSense, Steam Input. Remap in settings. F1 HUD hide, F2 screenshots. Language tab exists in-game from 0.9.5 with custom files in res/translations. Steam store interface language is English only.
If the game will not launch, verify Steam files, update GPU drivers, and avoid random “Allumeria full cracked” installers. The legitimate clients are Steam (paid + demo) and the developer’s itch page listed on links.
After it runs, you do not need this page until a friend asks. Send them the demo. Send them getting started. Specs do not craft a Flint Pickaxe.
Troubleshooting a bad first launch
Black screen: force windowed mode from the config if a borderless desktop covers the OpenGL window. Stutter only when placing lights: you painted a city; that is the engine doing its job, not a broken GPU. Audio missing: SoLoud is the mixer the developer chose; check Windows exclusive-mode headsets. Overlay crashes: disable Discord admin overlay before blaming Allumeria. Cloud save conflicts: pick the larger world folder, not the newer timestamp, after a dual-boot.
None of these issues require a 1080-class card. They require the demo test and a legitimate Steam install. If a friend insists their toaster cannot run “another Minecraft,” send the itch size numbers and this page, then let the demo settle the argument.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can I run Allumeria without a GTX 1080?
Very likely. The developer said Steam specs were his own PC and the game is under 2 GB. Try the demo.
Does Allumeria run on Steam Deck?
Unofficially for some players. Steam has listed compatibility as unknown. Test the demo and expect controller quirks.
Is there a Linux version?
Itch shipped linux-x64 builds during alpha. Steam’s official Linux status can differ; check your library.
How much disk space do I need?
On the order of 1 GB plus worlds and screenshots. Asset packs add a little more after 0.14.3.
